The World Butchers’ Challenge is a butchery competition of epic proportions. The highly anticipated competition was hosted on American ground for the first time in Sacramento, California at the iconic Golden 1 Center.
With butchers from across the globe battling it out for the title of the world’s best, it’s often referred to as the ‘Olympics of Meat’. Much more than just an event, it’s about learning, sharing and believing in a greater good for the industry.
Creativity & Innovation
The concept of the World Butchers’ Challenge is to develop an environment where butchers strive to exceed current industry practice in the areas of general workmanship, meat cutting, displaying and the creative usage of beef, lamb, pork and chicken product.
Through this competition, a global community has been cemented with life-long friendships formed, business opportunities unlocked and the overall trade benefiting from an injection of creativity and innovation.
A Wonderful Atmosphere
To represent your country is one of the highest achievements in your field of expertise and for Bernadeta and I to be on the same team was an even bigger achievement. Walking out into the Golden 1 Arena, the home to the Sacramento Kings NBA basketball team was a dream come true for both of us.
The competition was fantastic, 3 ½ hours OF HARD WORK, we used all our CREATIVE Skills to produce a fantastic themed display. During the competition we produced great products including our award-winning Pork Sausages. The Arena was full of fans from all over the world cheering on their teams with flags flying and songs galore. THERE WAS TRULY a wonderful atmosphere.

The Gala Awards were held at Sacramento Memorial Auditorium. THIS WAS A GREAT venue to achieve this award -The World Butchers Challenge, Devro World`s Best Pork Sausage.
Our sausages are made using an old family recipe which we have perfected over the course of a number of training sessions. To win this award demonstrates how hard we have worked to achieve this result. Our Pork sausages stand out from the crowd because they are a family friendly style and very TASTY. They appeal to all pallets from the very young to the very old.
